COOKIES FOR HAITI : UPDATE
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Cookies for Haiti project!
Thanks to your generous donations, Gavin will be taking $220 to school tomorrow to donate to the Red Cross and Unicef to provide services in Haiti. According to an article in U.S.A. Today, two cups of rice in a Haitian market cost around $.60, so hopefully our $220 will go a long way in helping the people there at this terrible time.
Gavin learned some valuable lessons about compassion, generosity, and gratitude from this experience and in addition was able to practice his writing and speaking skills. What a "teachable moment" for our five-year-old! Our entire family was reminded that when we give, we are blessed as much as those who receive our contributions.

Please take a look at the packaged foods that you
are buying at the grocery store! Many products
have a stamp-sized label that says Box Tops for
Education. These labels can be cut off the
packaging and donated to Connie for the benefit of her
classroom! Please see Connie if you have questions!
